Roadtripping in Spain: Discover the best of Spain
Spain is a beautiful country with a ton of beautiful cities you should visit. And what is the best way to do this? Yes that’s right, by roadtripping through Spain! We will give you some advice on what to visit and do there.
  • Barcelona is a great city to start your roadtrip. From here you can drive easily to the southern part of Spain where you find more amazing cities to take a stop.

Sagrada Familia

What to do in Barcelona?

As you might know, Barcelona used to be the home town of the famous artist Gaudí. You can still notice his existence because of the amazing masterpieces he worked on. You should definitely check out: Sagrada Familia, Palau Güell, Casa Batlló and the Guëll parc. But there are more things to do and see in Barcelona next to the art of Gaudí. Stroll down the most famous street of Barcelona: La Rambla, enjoy the Magic Fountain show of the Montjuïc, take a tour to Camp nou: the stadium of FC Barcelona, visit the Gotic neighborhood or relax at one of Barcelona’s beautiful beaches such as La Barceloneta.

  • Valencia would be the perfect next stop after Barcelona. Valencia is the third biggest city of Spain and has a lot to offer you. It’s smaller than Barcelona, so it feels more cozy and personal.

Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias

What to do in Valencia?

Valencia has the perfect combination of a nice beach and an amazing city centre. You should definitely visit the beach and have some paella at one of the many restaurants that are situated at the beach. Afterwards you can discover the city. Plaza de Ayuntamiento, Plaza de la Reina and Plaza de Virgen are three nice squares to visit and have a drink. The three squares are connected with each other so it’s easy to visit them all in once. Other things you might want to do are: experiencing a bull fight at Plaza de Torres, having an amazing view from Torres de Serranos and last but not least: visit the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias. This amazing place contains a couple of buildings of modern art. You can find a cinema and two of the most popular (open air) night clubs of Valencia: MYA and Umbracle!

What’s next?

After your visit in Valencia, it’s a great idea to go further to the south of Spain: Andalusia. In this region you will find amazing cities like: Malaga, Granada, Seville, Marbella and Gibraltar. So what are you waiting for? Hire a car and explore Spain!

A place to stay is easy to find. A recommendation is Feetup Hostels Spain, since they have modern, cheap and comfortable hostels in multiple cities in Spain.
