Lake Como

Florence

Assisi

Travel through the Apennine Mountains to wonderful Assisi, a delightful town built over the steep hillside. You can visit the tomb of St. Francis at the Basilica of St. Francis which is situated at the far western end of Lower Assisi, at the edge of a hill overlooking the valley. See the beautiful Giotto frescoes in the great basilica, based on stories of St. Francis recorded by St. Bonaventure, and admire numerous frescoes by other artists found in the lower church.

Rome

This intermezzo reaches its final destination in the ‘Eternal City' of Rome. There is so much to do and see here that you will probably need more than two days to explore. Wonder at the Vatican Museums and admire the vast collections of ancient and Renaissance art, gathered by Popes over the ages. Stare transfixed at Michelangelo's famous painted ceiling in the Sistine Chapel and enter St. Peter's Basilica to see more of Michelangelo's early works. Embrace the many legacies of ancient Rome and let your breath be taken away as you witness the might of the Colosseum and Ancient Forum.
